The model with the biggest range of use in the line. Impressively light (1410 g @ 177cm) and 4 mm narrower than last year’s model the BMT 90 is predestined for the formerly traditionally oriented touring skier, who’s expecting more pressure under the boot during the ascent but who’s also daring to explore new freeride territories on the way down. The new BMT 90 brings huge versatility to skiers looking for a light weight setup capable of long tours that can also ski the whole mountain in bounds in a variety of conditions. Its full carbon jacket construction makes the ski smooth and stable, while tip/tail rocker with camber under foot deliver liveliness and maneuverability.

3D.RIDGE TECHNOLOGY  It has become a symbol of VÖLKL lightweight construction. The distinctive characteristic of this technology is a raised central ridge that sharply levels out toward the edge, both in front of and behind the binding. This reduces the inertial mass around the fulcrum to a minimum and significantly enhances the agility of the ski. At the same time, the center ridge allows for a precise dimensioning of the hardness distribution, which leads to an especially harmonious flex on the ski. MULTI-LAYER WOOD CORE  Völkl freeskiing models feature a multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense, ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. |

Skin pin

SKIN PIN  The skin is attached by inserting its pin through a shaped hole in the shovel of the ski. The skin is then rotated 90° to lock it in place. Once rotated the skin fixation is 100% reliably secured. The system can be monitored by the skier from above at any time to provide visual peace of mind. The hole in the tip of the ski is also helpful for building a rescue toboggan in an emergency. |
